Nevs has joined a strategic cooperation with Renesas Electronics – a world leading microcontroller and automotive semiconductor solution provider. Based on Nevs’ EV-optimized automotive architecture and Renesas Electronics’ mature technology system, the two parties will develop system solutions tailor-made for new energy vehicles.

National Electric Vehicle Sweden AB (Nevs) has expanded the Board with Mr. Finn Johnsson, among else former chairman of AB Volvo.
Nevs’ part owners, the Tianjin demonstration zone, THT, and the State Research Information Technology, SRIT are also new board members.

Finn Johnsson has for many years held leading positions in international and Swedish business. Including as Chairman of the Board of AB Volvo and member of the board of Industrivärden, Skanska and other companies, as well as CEO of Euroc, Mölnlycke Health Care and United Distillers. Currently Finn Johnsson holds the positions as Chairman for The West Sweden Chamber of Commerce, Ovako, Thomas Concrete Group and several small businesses.

Maria Oinas takes up the position as VP Quality & Environment on January 1, 2016 and will take over after Kjell AC Bergström who will retire. Maria’s recent assignment was Quality Director for Volvo Powertrain AB in Köping since 2009.

Prior to that Maria Oinas held the position as Financial Manager at Cromtryck AB Vällingby and has earlier extensive experience from ABB Atom Services and ABB Atom Fuel Division in Västerås, where she worked with quality issues for twelve years.

Period activities in brief:

Nevs left reorganization after the creditors accepted the composition proposal at Vanersborg district court on 23 March.
The city of Tianjin and the IT company SRIT new partners in Nevs.
IT company Teamsun partner in Nevs JV company in Tianjin.
Cooperation agreement with Dongfeng Motors on including product development and another with Tübitak in the development of the Turkish national car.
The Board extended with a new vice-chairman and union representatives
Financial comments:

Good cash position of the Group, 1 282 MSEK.
Net sales of SEK 50 MSEK, which is on par with the previous year, and consist mainly of sales of services. In addition to this other income from the sale of licenses of 370 MSEK.
Net income was minus 86.6 MSEK, which is significantly better than last year and the management is working hard to achieve sustainable profitability.

TÜBITAK, (the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey) which has been assigned to develop “Turkish National Car” and realize this important mission, has chosen National Electric Vehicle Sweden AB, Nevs, as the industrial partner for the project.

The cooperation has started in June 2015 between Nevs and TÜBITAK and future industrial synergies in terms of development and manufacturing shall be generated with this cooperation. In the short term perspective this cooperation shall put Nevs’ assets to work and shall give Turkey quick access to extensive automotive knowledge and experience.

Nevs shall also provide its know-how in the developing of the business plan and establishing of the supply and distribution chains to TÜBITAK.

Together with the new shareholders Tianjin and SRIT, the partner Teamsun as well as the cooperation with Dongfeng Motor, the cooperation with TÜBITAK is an important step in building up Nevs as a strong automotive company with industrial, technological and financial partnerships.
